About MCOP
MCOP (Model COP) is a youth-led platform that brings the energy and purpose of the United Nations Climate Conference into schools and colleges. We're not waiting for tomorrow's leaders. We're building them now.
Change Is Us is the youth-led movement behind MCOP, born in Mumbai on the belief that environmental action starts with showing up. Over 200 clean-up drives and 65,000+ volunteers later, the movement has pulled more than 550 metric tonnes of waste from Mumbai's coastline. But as it grew, one gap stood out: young people were driving climate action on the ground, yet had no seat at the table where climate policy was decided. Barely 1% of COP28's delegates were under 30, and that gap is exactly what MCOP was created to close.
Climate Action
Grounded in the real-world urgency of the climate crisis and the UNFCCC's Conference of Parties framework.
Student Empowerment
We build the next generation of environmental diplomats — from Mumbai's top schools to a national stage.
Collaborative Learning
Real debate, real policy, real stakes — delegates negotiate across tracks in an authentic UN simulation.
Our Mission
To equip the next generation of climate leaders with the knowledge, tools, and voice to engage in real-world policy-making — transforming classrooms into negotiation halls and students into environmental diplomats.
Our Vision
To bring together young, dynamic and innovative perspectives from the youth to drive dialogue for change — building leadership skills and enhancing the ability to explore solutions.
Our Story
India's First UN-Backed COP Simulation
Every year, world leaders gather to decide the future of our planet, yet the people who will inherit that future are rarely in the room. Parliaments meant to represent us remain dominated by an older generation, with under-30s making up just 2.6% of global parliamentarians and young women barely 1%. Out of 193 countries, only 40 think to bring youth into their UN delegations. Even at COP28, among 80,000 participants deciding the fate of the climate, youth delegates numbered barely 1,000. This is why we started MCOP: to give our generation a seat at the table.
Affiliated with UNICEF India
MCOP works in association with UNICEF India, aligning with its mission to promote youth participation and leadership in climate action — bringing legitimacy, credibility, and impact to every conference we conduct.
