Terms of Service

These Terms of Service govern access to and use of the MCOP website, delegate applications, simulation events, and related digital properties, operated by MCOP. By accessing the Platform, submitting a form, registering as a delegate, or otherwise using our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. Please also review our Privacy Policy.

MCOP's programs are primarily designed for high school and college students. Because many participants are minors under applicable law, the following apply:

• If you are under 18 years of age (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction), you may only use the Platform and participate in MCOP programs with the involvement and consent of a parent, legal guardian, or your school/educational institution acting on your behalf.
• Schools, educators, and institutional partners registering students on their behalf confirm that they have obtained any consents required under applicable law before submitting student information.
• We may request verification of parental/guardian or institutional consent before confirming a minor's participation in an in-person or online simulation.

If you are a parent, guardian, or educator and believe a minor has registered without appropriate consent, please contact us at rajveer.ciu@gmail.com so we can address it.

MCOP simulates United Nations Climate Conference (COP) negotiations through Regional MCOP Rounds and the Global MCOP Summit, delivered in-school, online, and through partnerships with NGOs, environmental organizations, and policy networks. Program formats, schedules, partner organizations, and eligibility criteria may change from time to time and are described on the Platform or in program-specific materials.

• You must provide accurate, current, and complete information when registering, applying as a delegate, or submitting any form (including Delegate Interest, Academic Institution, Brand Collaboration, or Patron Collaboration forms).
• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of any login credentials associated with your account and for all activity under your account.
• MCOP reserves the right to accept, waitlist, or decline any application or registration at its discretion, including on the basis of capacity, eligibility criteria, or program fit.

Participants in MCOP simulations, workshops, and events agree to:

• Engage respectfully with fellow delegates, mentors, facilitators, and partner organizations, regardless of differing views expressed in negotiation roleplay.
• Represent assigned country or stakeholder positions in good faith, for educational and simulation purposes only, without personal, discriminatory, or harassing conduct.
• Refrain from any form of harassment, discrimination, hate speech, bullying, or unsafe behavior, whether in person or online.
• Comply with venue, platform, and event-specific rules communicated by MCOP organizers.

MCOP reserves the right to remove any participant from a program or event, without refund of any applicable fees, for violation of this Code of Conduct or for conduct that endangers the safety or well-being of others.

• All MCOP branding, including the MCOP name, logos, taglines, visual identity, briefing materials, curricula, and simulation frameworks, are the property of MCOP/Change Is Us or its licensors and may not be copied, reproduced, or used without prior written permission.
• Position papers, resolutions, speeches, and other materials you create as part of a simulation remain your intellectual property, but by submitting them you grant MCOP a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, and showcase such materials (e.g. in reports, social media, or partner communications) for educational and promotional purposes, with attribution where practical.
• You may not use MCOP's name, branding, or affiliation to suggest endorsement of any third-party product, service, or organization without our prior written consent.

MCOP events and simulations may be photographed, recorded, or livestreamed for educational and promotional purposes, including use on the website and social media (LinkedIn, Instagram, X). Where required by law or where a participant is a minor, MCOP will seek appropriate consent before publishing identifiable media of that participant, and will honor withdrawal-of-consent requests sent to rajveer.ciu@gmail.com on a going-forward basis.

MCOP works with schools, environmental NGOs, policy networks, and Patron-tier organizations under separate partnership, sponsorship, or collaboration agreements. Where the terms of a specific partnership agreement conflict with these Terms, the partnership agreement governs the scope of that relationship. Submitting a Brand Collaboration or Patron Collaboration form does not, by itself, create a binding partnership; it is an expression of interest, and formal terms will be agreed separately in writing.

Some MCOP programs, rounds, or the Global Summit may involve participation fees, sponsorship contributions, or merchandise sales. Where applicable, pricing, payment terms, and refund/cancellation policies will be disclosed at the point of registration or purchase and, where relevant, are incorporated into these Terms by reference.

The Platform may link to or reference third-party websites, NGOs, UNFCCC resources, or partner organizations. MCOP does not control and is not responsible for the content, policies, or practices of third-party sites.

MCOP simulations are educational exercises. Positions, statements, and "negotiated outcomes" produced during simulations are for learning purposes only and do not represent the views of MCOP, Change Is Us, any partner organization, or any government or entity being simulated. The Platform and all program content are provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, MCOP and Change Is Us shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Platform or participation in MCOP programs. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law, including in relation to the safety of minors at in-person events.

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Platform or a program, at any time and at our discretion, for violation of these Terms, the Code of Conduct, or for conduct that poses a risk to MCOP, its participants, or partners.

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be indicated by updating the "Last updated" date above, and, where appropriate, through direct communication to registered participants, schools, or partners. Continued use of the Platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Platform shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, unless otherwise required by applicable law.
